Welcome! I'm Andrew Tremel, a public historian who has worked for the National Park Service and the Architect of the Capitol. This Fall, my first article will be published in Pennsylvania History, the journal of the Pennsylvania Historical Association, titled "The Union League, Black Leaders, and the
Recruitment of Philadelphia’s African American Civil War Regiments."
My focus is on America from 1820-1877, though I have a strong interest in all of America's past. I'm hoping to use this blog to provide some occasional book reviews and reminders of anniversaries of key historical events. Hope you enjoy reading!
